  • Check My File - If you're ever refused credit, now you can find out why by checking your credit score online. But there's more  - credit files are not just to assess your credit risk, but also when you apply for some jobs, or when you seek to rent a property.
  • Citizens Advice Bureaux - Free confidential, impartial and independent advice. Subjects  including debt, benefits, housing, legal matters, employment, immigration and consumer issues. Search for  your nearest bureau, by town and postcode.
  • Consumer Gateway - Run by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). With online access to information and advice for consumers and explains the right way to complain, with links to other quality information websites.
  • Consumer Support Networks - Aims to improve consumer access to expert, accurate and timely advice.
  • DSS Pensions and Retirement  Advice for the future and your retirement pension.If you don't have one, the future could be bleak. With the lack of decent and truly independent advice on the net, this site is well worth a look.
  • Financial Services Authority - For complaints about the financial services industry. The FSA aims to maintain efficient, orderly and clean financial markets and help retail consumers achieve a fair deal. The two big areas are obviously going to be pensions and endowments.
  • Finance Victims  - The selling of commission-heavy and profit-light endowment policies of the eighties is now becoming public knowledge through sites like this, by victims to advise other victims. 
  • How to Complain - This free and independent service enables you to: learn about your rights and where to get advice and help; submit, escalate and resolve complaints online; and find out how to complain about any issue. It gives a focus for your complaint by using a three-step process. First, you find the organisation you want to complain to. Second, you fill in the site's specially designed form. Third, you click 'submit' to send your complaint.
  • Pensions Ombudsman - This free service from the Pensions Ombudsman investigates complaints and disputes regarding pension schemes.
  • This Is Money - Shows you where to go and what to say when you get there, if you've been treated badly by your bank, building society, mortgage lender or credit card company.
  • Trading Standards Central - Information for consumers and businesses, schools, advice and information centres, community organisations, local councils, business support agencies and trade associations.
